I’m sitting home today. I don’t want to go anywhere! That doesn’t happen often haha But I have a list of things to get done around the house. So instead, I’m archiving photos. I came across some photos from November 2016, when we had wildfires here in NC. The smoke was unbearable as it traveled down the Nantahala Gorge right to our home. My heart goes out to all the brave firefighters and the many folks who couldn’t escape the smoke. It was smothering me inside the house and we were several miles from the source! Because of our line of work, we were fortunate enough to be able to leave the area until the air cleared. We chose to drive to the Gulf coast for the first time in our lives.

We went from Panama City to Destin. It was amazing! We had been to the Florida Keys, but the Gulf sands were like nothing I had seen before, it was a glistening white. I look forward to going back some day.
