I have been following Dave Ramsey off and on for about 12 years now and he is definitely one of my favorite mentors. I have read Entreleadership twice, and it is one of my favorite books that I highly recommend to entrepreneurs! I’ve read Financial Peace Revisited, which Mr. Ramsey would be proud to know I picked up at the public library for $1. I also read the Total Money Makeover. I thoroughly believe in his approach to financial independence and I am debt free because I followed his approach. It wasn’t an easy road to debt free, in fact, it was tough! And we failed many times.
I was watching the Dave Ramsey Show on Youtube last week, and I heard him announce that he was having a live event…and it was FREE to attend. I knew this was an opportunity I did not want to miss. I called my sister and told her we were going to see Mr. Ramsey live. She was excited and decided to come along.
We had a great trip to Brentwood, TN. We really had no trouble finding the building. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I wanted to be sure we had plenty of time to hang out. I had planned to catch the radio show live before going to the event. Maybe we would be lucky enough to get our books autographed and get a photo with him?!?
I couldn’t be happier that we got our photo with Dave Ramsey….and both of our books autographed! Thank you Mr. Ramsey, and God bless you for all you do. I was really surprised to see that Mr. Ramsey was so accessible. He is as friendly and approachable as you might imagine.
The staff in the lobby was very accommodating and generous. The kids ate way too many chocolate chip cookies (sorry Mr. Ramsey), and we had a great time watching the show live. As a bonus….
The event was awesome. I really enjoyed watching the speakers interact with the crowd. It was like a big group of friends, all in one room. The vibe was uplifting. Oh, I didn’t mention the highlight of the evening….I made it on Nashville Fox 17 News!
What a day! It was a trip I am sure not to forget any time soon! I am very grateful that there are people who dedicate their lives as teachers and role models for the rest of us. It is truly inspiring.
